What to expect from a Microlaser Peel

Are you considering a MicroLaserPeel for skin rejuvenation but aren’t sure exactly what the procedure entails?

With the peel, a state of the art laser is used to slough off the outermost layer of the skin at precise depths. Then, during the healing process, new skin cells form which helps to improve the skin’s overall appearance.

The procedure is ideal for those who have minimal recovery time to spare.

“Depending on the depth of the peel you may just have a couple days to a week or two of downtime,” said Kathe Malinowski, lead esthetician and marketing manager for Eterna MedSpa & Laser Vein Center.

Peel depths vary from four microns to 50 microns, depending on skin type, condition and improvement goals. A deeper peel can take a little longer to heal.  Malinowski said a depth of four to six microns is common among clients.  “You will feel like you have a sunburn right after you get your treatment done,” she said.  And skin will feel tight the following day.  “About two days later you will start to peel,” Malinowski said.

While wearing sunscreen lotion with SPF should be done daily to avoid sun damage and premature skin aging, it is especially encouraged after a MicroLaserPeel procedure.  “The skin that is peeling off will leave nice new skin underneath and you want to protect it,” said Malinowski.  A single treatment can provide a noticeable effect, but three to four peels annually are advised for optimal results.  And those results include skin that is more youthful looking, has fewer wrinkles and has an improved texture.

If you are looking for a way to turn back the clock on your skin, consider a MicroLaserPeel.
