Regular facials offers rejuvenation, pampering

When is the last time you really pampered your skin? If it’s been a while, a facial may be in order.

What is it exactly?

In a nutshell, the multi-step skin treatment includes cleansing, exfoliating and steaming the skin, as well as an extraction to clear clogged pores. Then a mask is applied, followed by a hydrating serum and moisturizer.

Several varieties of facial treatments are available Eterna MedSpa & Laser Vein Center.

The customized facial includes the above but adds in a face, neck and shoulder massage while the Jan Marini facial incorporates products from the Jan Marini line. Eterna’s Brightening Facial is geared for those individuals who have hyperpigmentation, and the anti-aging O² Lift Facial leaves the skin exfoliated, illuminated and oxygenated.

Have a young adult in your life whose skin needs some TLC? Eterna’s teen facial helps battle breakouts.

The medspa has also begun offering HydraFacials, which, according to Kathe Malinowski, lead esthetician and marketing manager for Eterna MedSpa & Laser Vein Center, “is our newest and best facial.”

“It is very similar to a microdermabrasion. Instead of using crystals or diamond tip we use three different solutions and a Glysal booster. The solutions are a cleanser, a beta hydroxy, and a solution that has hyaluronic acid and peptides. It’s the newest and greatest facial out there. In the treatment you are exfoliated and extracted, and serums are infused in your skin. We add in lymphatic drainage and the red or blue light therapy.”

The full menu of facial offerings can be found on Eterna’s website.

How often should facials be done? Malinowski recommends every four to six weeks.

“Unless you are really good with your at home regimen and are using good products with good properties, like hyaluronic acid, glycolics or retinals,” she said. “Then you can spread it out a little longer.”
