Fight Hyperpigmentation with Obagi

Eterna Med Spa Offers Obagi Products To Help Fight Hyperpigmentation

Do you struggle with hyperpigmentation? Look no further than Obagi.

The No. 1 physician-dispensed skin care brand is best known for its Nu-Derm system, which targets skin discolorations.

“This is for the client that has melasma from pregnancy or hormones or the sun worshiper who now sees brown spots all over and can't get rid of them,” said Kathe Malinowski, lead esthetician and marketing manager for Eterna MedSpa & Laser Vein Center.

Both the Obagi Nu-Derm Clear and the Obagi Nu-Derm contain 4 percent hydroquinone, which helps to lift hyperpigmentation. The Nu-Derm system also uses with Tretinoin (Retin-A).

The Obagi skin treatment consists four different products, including a cleanser, toner, exfoderm and an SPF.

The latter is an important step in the regimen, Malinowski said.

“Hyperpigmentation is a condition where if you go back out in the sun with no SPF the hyperpigmentation will return,” she said. “You must be on an SPF daily when using this system.”

Clients typically see results from using the Nu-Derm system to treat hyperpigmentation in about three months.

“We have benchmark date appointments set up for the client to come back in a have a Visia picture taken so they can see their progress and make sure they are continuing to use their product,” Malinowski said. “In six months people who stay with the regimen will notice a tremendous change in their skin.”

Other Obagi products carried by Eterna Med Spa include Vitamin C serums, Obagi 360, which helps to preserve youthful-looking skin, as well as Pro C products, which consist of the Pro C Eye Brightener, Pro C Peptides and Pro C SPF.

“These products are vitamin C based and help to protect the skin from aging,” Malinowski said.
