Eugene Chiu, MD, FACC

Eugene Chiu, MD, FACC is Board Certified in Cardiology and Internal Medicine. Dr. Chiu earned his Medical Degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago and his Cardiology Fellowship at the Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL. Dr Chiu graduated from the University of Chicago as the John Crerar Scholar with Chemistry, B.A. with honors and membership in Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. It is during this period of time that Dr. Chiu developed an interest in Laser Physics and Photonics (science of light).

Dr. Chiu is a member of the American College of Phlebology, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), American College of Cardiology (ACC), the American College of Physicians (ACP), and the American Medical Association (AMA). Dr. Chiu is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC). And he has served as a researcher, consultant, and university instructor.

For over 20 years, Dr. Chiu has provided highly personalized and compassionate health care in the Southwest Chicago metropolitan area. What distinguishes Dr Chiu is that he focuses on the individual and is very much attuned to the personal needs of his patients. As part of his practice of Cardiology and Internal Medicine, Dr. Chiu developed a growing interest and expertise in vascular medicine and treatment of peripheral artery and vein diseases. Dr Chiu is skilled in the various interventional (catheter and angioplasty based) treatments of these diseases. Because patients with artery and vein problems often have aesthetic and cosmetic needs, Dr. Chiu's interest evolved into cosmetic treatments as well for his patients.

Over the years, Dr Chiu has undergone extensive training to become fully certified to perform advanced laser treatments and to stay at the cutting edge of the latest techniques in the medical use of lasers for vein treatments as well as in cosmetic dermatology.
