Umesh Sharma M.D., FACS

After serving this community for 35 years as Board Certified General and Vascular Surgeon, Dr. Sharma retired from surgery and focusing on Noninvasive Vein Treatments. He has had more than 20 years experience in specialized noninvasive Vein Treatment as director of South West Vein Clinic in Joliet. He was one of the first to start Endovenous Laser Treatments in office.

Dr. Sharma is fellow of "American College of Surgeons" and a member of American College of Phlebology. Dr. Sharma attended school at KGMC Medical College in India. Trained in the U.K. and finished Surgery Residency from Metro-Group of Hospitals affiliated with University of Illinois. Then he moved to Joliet in 1976. In Joliet he held positions as Chief of Staff Silver Cross Hospital 2007-2009, Chief of Staff Elect Silver Cross Hospital 2005-2007, Secretary Medical Staff Silver Cross Hospital 2001-2002, Director of Wound Car Silver Cross Hospital 2001-Present,Chairman Surgery Silver Cross Hospital 1994-1996.Disaster Committee 1989-1990, Credentialing Committee 1989-1990, Nephrology Committee 1989-1994. Surgery Committee 1989-Present, Director Vascular Lab Silver Cross Hospital 1995-Present, Chairman Trauma Committee 1987-1990.
