Know your chemical peels

Looking to rejuvenate your skin during the dry, winter months? Chemical peels are a great way to do just that. Here is what to know about each peel offered at Eterna MedSpa & Laser Vein Center:

1. Salicylic 30% peel

This peel is ideal for clients with oily, blemish-prone skin. It also has an exfoliating effect which can diminish the look of whiteheads, blackheads, papules, and pustules.

2. Glycolic peel

Concerned with aging, fine lines, and wrinkles? This peel will target all of those concerns with minimal downtime. The three levels of glycolic acid peels range in strengths from 30% to 70%.

3. Pyruvic peel

Typically used on patients with mature skin, this peel minimizes pores, evens out skin tone and texture, and decreases the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

4. Jessner peel 14%

This all-in-one peel can improve the most common concerns such as dullness, fine lines, acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, and aging skin. Expect up to two days of downtime.

5. Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) peel

This peel is geared toward clients who are concerned with hyperpigmentation. Eterna offers two levels: the TCA Light 25% peel for lighter hyperpigmentation, and the TCA Strong 40% peel for severe hyperpigmentation.

6. Mandelic peel

This peel is specifically formulated for patients who experience redness or sensitivity on a regular basis.

7. Glytone peel

This treatment is a great way to decrease the appearance of moderate hyperpigmentation and dark circles under the eyes, as well as improve the appearance of fine lines and crow’s feet.

“Come in for a consultation to see which peel is best for you,” said Kathe Malinowski, lead esthetician and marketing manager for Eterna.
